Stop the spread of Corona-Virus

MEASURE

Here are the measures we are putting in place to help stop the spread of Coronavirus, while ensuring that all students are able to return to Maktab. All measures have been carefully thought through and planned out, and we have used the government advice for schools as our starting point.

Bubble

We will have two bubbles, Session one will be bubble one and session two bubble two. Islamic study groups will be separated within the Maktab wherever possible so that students have access to a minimal number of classrooms and still being able to make use of teaching spaces where appropriate. We will be avoiding any non-essential mixing of year groups.

Catch it, bin it, kill it’

Hand sanitiser inside and outside every classroom and around the school. We will continue to encourage students to wash their hands regularly and promote the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach for any sneezes or coughs.

Minimising use school facility

We will minimise where possible for children to use the school facility. Please make sure your child completes their Wudu and uses the toilet at home before they come to Maktab.

Arrivals

Those who are local should try to walk your child’s to Maktab. If you need to use public transport then they must wear a face covering. Children will go straight to their class as waiting of communal areas is strictly controlled, children will not be allowed to wait or play in communal areas inside or outside.

End of Maktab

Parents/Guardians must pick up their children on time. While waiting outside you must follow two-meter social distance rule. If for whatever reason you are late please arrange someone else to pick up or call Maktab on 07421350352 to inform us you are late. You must head for home as children will not be allowed to mix and to play in communal areas inside or outside.

Bringing Equipment

Students should bring their own equipment to school (eg pens, pencils, colour pen and bottle of water etc) as sharing of most items will not be allowed.

Wearing musk

In line with current government guidance, students do not wear face coverings in school as they will be in their bubbles, regularly sanitising their hands and socially distancing from people in other bubbles.
There is currently no requirement for students to wear face coverings within the school as we are not in an area of localised lockdown. The government advice is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-in-education/face-coverings-in-education
